Today I am so very excited to announce that I’ve joined Arthur Ventures as an operating partner.
When Ryan Kruizenga and Pat Meenan reached out to discuss the possibility of joining the team, I was instantly intrigued. Arthur Ventures funds capital-efficient, B2B software companies beyond Silicon Valley. There couldn’t be anything more perfectly aligned with my own vision and values.
With most of my experience in startups outside of Silicon Valley, the venture world is pretty foreign to me. Bootstrapping and capital efficiency is in my DNA. After spending time with the Arthur Ventures team, it’s clearly in their DNA as well.
Having worked with Arthur Ventures through one of their portfolio companies, I already knew them to be authentically founder-friendly (an over-used term but very true in this case). They are humble, open, transparent, and authentic. There couldn’t be a better team for me to work with.
I will be partnering with our portfolio companies to help them take advantage of strategic and tactical opportunities to accelerate growth and create enterprise value.
How does an operating partner fit into a venture capital firm that has mostly been hands-off with their investments? By staying true to that core philosophy. We have playbooks, resources, contacts, advice, and best practices. But we won’t be prescriptive or overreaching with them. We'll add value and be a sounding board when, where, and only if it’s needed.
While this is a jump into a new world for me, I am going to continue to focus on what I know best—go-to-market, people, culture, and capital-efficient growth. Now I just get to do it with fantastic companies in the Arthur Ventures Portfolio. Thanks to James, Pat, Ryan, Jeff, and the entire AV team for welcoming me with open arms. I’m so excited to jump in!
